Thank you for giving us a peek into your world and for your openness. It is clear that you have incredible self-motivation to have reached these levels of endurance. Sometimes we goal-oriented types feel misunderstood (I have been accused of being somewhat manic with my biking), and people can discourage more than encourage us. I respect what you have accomplished, and how you never wavered from your goal. In a perfect world, every interaction would be smooth, there would be no conflicts or hurt feelings. I like to leave all my endeavors and relationships on a good note, as I'm sure you do. But I'm sure the crew has forgiven you for any mental lapses. They got you to the finish, but it's good you spoke up and did it on your terms and found the people to rally around when you needed it. That's half the battle in life. It's mind-boggling how you all pulled it off. I know the support crew cared about you as a person and not just a cyclist they needed to get across the finish line. Most of us would be hard pressed to find people willing to give up 2 weeks of their life to support us in our quests. I hope you continue to find people in your life to keep your fires burning, because you obviously have a lot of passion. And I have no doubt you will excel in whatever y0u put your mind to next! There's always we can do things even better, but I hope you can pat yourself on the back! Give yourself a little time off, and keep us posted on future goals on or off the bike.
