What a story! I hope that someday you will share this with Daniel's brother(s) or sister(s). You have really carried us through that painful journey. It brings back so many memories...I'm glad you didn't stuff it like I did and shared his life with all of us.
It makes him real...his life really mattered. While it was sad my ultrasound picture was thoughtlessly tossed in the trash can, I can now picture what it might have looked like.
It's odd how doctors used to try to protect us from pain like pretending something never happened. By the time I realized I was pregnant I was 3 months and never got to hear a heartbeat, so the loss was trivialized. But I think we have to walk through it to process it, just as you are. Continued best wishes in your healing journey. Daniel's life had meaning and a purpose. And he mattered to many people and to God. May you feel His comfort.

Dear Joan,

I will be the Crew Chief for Team Claus Robl in RAAM 2016 and find your article very interesting and useful - thanks a lot.

Any chance that you can share relevant parts of your team site, in particular the ones related to equipment and bookings, but really as much as possible, as we are first time participants in the race.

Thanks in advance for all the information you are willing to share.

Thanks Tony! I've followed your athletic endeavors with awe, and enjoyed watching you compete at UltraMan World Championships in 2012 when Mike was racing! Always great to cheer on another Canuck! :)

Too funny Michael! I remember your team passing me just before McHenry, so you must have passed through Grantsville just prior to the parade starting. It was interesting going through town following the parade with all the people on the streets and whatnot!

Brilliant read. Well done from Team Generali Race Around Ireland...

Funny story to about the Grantsville parade you mention.... I was on the bike for our team entering the town, we weren't stopped for the parade but as I entered the main street it was line with spectators which for a brief moment I thought it was for the RAAM competitors...had no idea about any parade and when no one stood up or cheered I quickly gathered I was just another cyclist and kept head down to hide the disappointment!
